Galvan has played softball from a young age. She said, “Softball began for me at the age of eight. I saw my brother play baseball and my dad play slow pitch, so I knew I wanted to start myself as well.” Galvan’s father and brother were an important part of her upbringing, especially as of now with the position she is playing for the Reds. Galvan said, “I am a pitcher, and my favorite part about pitching is the amount of energy I produce after a pitch. I also just love having the ball and playing hard.” Galvan has a strong commitment to her sport, like many other players.
Galvan has her vision set on her future. She said, “I see softball in my future. I hope to get committed to playing softball. I also hope to get my degree in kinesiology and be an athletic trainer or occupational therapist.” While Galvan is a talented varsity player she is also a student- athlete. Galvan said, “Softball has never been a problem with being a student-athlete, because I am always gonna be a student before and then softball comes later.” The Reds had a game on Sept. 5 against Southeast Colorado. Galvan has many years of experience, while some may just begin their softball journey. Galvan said, “Some advice I would give to someone would have to be that this game is about failure, but it’s about how you get up and change your approach, it’s how you know you are going to get better, if you work hard amazing things will happen. “The Reds have many goals for this new season, especially from the players. Galvan said, “A goal for me this season is to win another state championship, and to get committed to play at a higher level of softball.” The Lady Reds are ready to play hard and win this season.
