The 2025-2026 school year was one that many at EHS will remember for a very long time. From huge athletic accomplishments to having fun at school events, this year gave students a lot to look back on.
One of the biggest highlights came from the girls’ tennis team. Aya Kinoshita and (12) Evelyn South (12) had an amazing second finish at state. Another major moment came when Madi Smith and Trinity Salberg (12) took first at the state championships. “This year has meant so much to me because I knew it was my last time ever getting to play tennis. Being able to win a state championship with Trinity was such a surreal ending to my tennis career,” said Madi Smith.
Track has also had a strong season this year. State is coming up, but the athletes have already demonstrated their talent and hard work. “Track is going great so far. It is definitely a new sport, but I think I am doing pretty well, and I am excited to see what state is going to be like,” said Cade Foster (11). This is Cade’s first year of track, and he is qualified for state this upcoming weekend. Many athletes qualified and had personal bests. The team has worked hard all spring, and they get to see their hard work pay off soon.
Other sports that have stood out this season in the fall are the Eaton softball team, which made it all the way to the state championships, taking second place. Football had a strong season, going 8-4 overall. The team brought a lot of excitement to Friday nights, and one of the best moments of the year is when the Reds beat the University during the Homecoming game.
Volleyball had one of the biggest accomplishments of the year, bringing home the state championship trophy. Their season was full of big moments, and they gave Eaton High School another state championship to celebrate. The boys’ basketball team had a memorable season, finishing with a 25-6 record. They were one of the most exciting teams to watch and had a lot of support from students at games. Girls’ basketball had a good season with a final record of 13-12, beating very skilled opponents this season.
Outside of sports, school events also made the year special. Prom in Briggsdale was a fun night that a lot of students had been looking forward to all year. It gave everyone a chance to spend time together before the school year ended. Homecoming was another unforgettable part of the year, especially with the football win adding to the excitement. Spirit week, the dance, and the game made it one of the most fun weeks of the year for students.
Looking back, this year had a little bit of everything, from big wins, school spirit, and memories that the Eaton Reds made will be taken well past graduation. From State championships to a fun night with friends, it was very memorable for Eaton High School. For many seniors and students, the 2025-2026 school year will be remembered as one of the best years yet.
