After high school, Aya Kinoshita (26) plans to attend Grand Canyon University in Arizona, where she intends to major in marketing and advertising. She is focused on preparing and being ready for college before the fall semester in September.
At Eaton High School, Kinoshita is an active member of National Honor Society, Student Council, and LINK. She is also passionate about playing tennis and looks forward to the upcoming season.
Being dedicated to her school activities, Kinoshita is a natural leader. Being a leader in the school is important because leadership helps set an example for other students. She remembers looking up to upperclassmen leaders when she was a freshman and believes those leaders had a strong influence on the school. Kinoshita believes that setting an example for other people is crucial in high school.
For Kinoshita, the most important word in the EATON acronym is awareness. She believes that awareness applies to every aspect of what one does in both school and in personal relationships. Kinoshita said, “To be aware [of] situations, whether you’re in class or talking with other people, it’s important to know what is going on around you.”
A quote that Kinoshita lives by is, “You never know what other people are going through.” This quote applies to her everyday life, and she believes that it’s important for others to be considerate of everyone they interact with.
As she prepares to graduate, Kinoshita hopes to leave a lasting legacy of kindness. She wants to be known as someone who was just kind to others. “[Kindness] is something that can sometimes be hard, but I have tried during my time at EHS to be kind to people I don’t necessarily know,” said Kinoshita.
Kinoshita’s journey through high school is a testament to her passions and dedication, making her a true embodiment of what it means to be an Eaton Red.
