Boys start season off strong

As the varsity golf players were gone for their first home tournament, they came back strong and pushed back Resurrection Christian and Sterling at the RCS Chip Challenge, and took third.

Logan Hoffner (19) said, “The tournament was great. Peter played well as he tied for first place. He is looking sharp. Walker [Scott] and Bryce [Leafgren] had a great outing too. We all love playing golf together. We have been friends for what seems like forever. It’s just a great group of guys, and I see a lot of potential that we will do great things.”

I feel like our team is definetely rounding into shape and we’re going to carry some momentum of our good play into our upcoming tournament.

Peter Grossenbacher (19) was attending summer tournaments throughout the summer in Oregon, and was not back in time to play for the first tournament of the fall season, but he did not let it affect him as he tied for first at the Highland Meadows in a 5A event. Grossenbacher says that they have great chemistry, and they played very well at the Highland Meadows Tournament.

Grossenbacher said, “So far this season has been awesome. I’ve been carrying a lot of momentum in from my summer tournaments, and I am feeling very good about my game. It is rounding into shape at a perfect time to finish our season strong, and I think that we have a great shot at state.

Their next round is at Estes Park on August 30.
