In a 3-0 sweep, Eaton was victorious against Faith Christian on September 5. In the tight first set, the Reds pulled away and won 25-19. Using this momentum, the Reds effectively shut the Eagles down and won the second set 25-17 and the third set 25-13.

Makenzie Harris (19) led in kills with 10, followed by Ana Scott (18) with 8, and Darcie Kaiser (18) with 6. Chelsey Lockey (18) led the team in digs with 15, followed by Harris with 14. Alexis Lamoreaux (18) and setter Lockey led the team in blocking, with 2 solo blocks and 2 block assists each.

Lockey said, “Blocking gives us a lot of momentum for the next few plays. It’s definitely nice to have that contribute to the team.” Lamoreaux said, “It’s a good feeling to know that I was able to stop them from scoring and do my part for the team.”

Head coach Gwen Forster said, “I think we created more pressure from the end line, but it’s interesting because we always talk about learning from each match, so we worked on different things, and then there are other things that pop up that have to be better. We did better defensively, but we made serve receive errors. It’s one of those we will continue to train.”
