Here comes 2023

Looking back on 2022, but forward to 2023

Here comes 2023

With the new year close, the planning of resolutions begin. As 2022 wraps up there are plenty of things to look forward to in 2023. People like to make resolutions that they start or may never start. As the year has gone by there have been many things that have happened, good and bad. There has been good entertainment, like Elvis, Top Gun: Maverick, Minions, and many more. There has been a number of bad crimes such as the Idaho murders, the shooting in Colorado Springs LGBTQ club, nearly 50 school shootings, and much more.

Walking into the new year there will be many people wanting to make a change in their life or wanting something to be different. Resolutions could be wanting to keep the good practices, change an undesired trait, or even accomplish a personal goal. Mattea Gurnsey (24) said, “My New Year’s resolution is to start working out because I feel better when I do. I think it might be a struggle at first but in the end I will follow through with it.”

As the year passes by people will reminisce about their favorite parts of the year or their least favorite parts. They could think about all the negatives or they could take the positives out of it. Senior Noah Juhl said, “My favorite thing about 2022 was being a part of the Eaton football team. I was able to build close relationships and find a family outside my home where many great memories were made and we won the state title.”

Looking ahead into the new year there are many things to come like new movies, music, shows, and sports. Aidan Juhl (23) said, “In 2023 I am looking forward to just finishing the school year and staying involved. I am looking forward to finishing the school year because I’m going to get to make great memories with others. I will hopefully get to graduate and just do other things to plan for my future, and I just want to enjoy the moments I have with everyone and live those moments up to the best of my ability.” Looking forward to a good year full of many different things in store.
