Reds cross country prepare for their final meets of the season

Another race is knocked down, after the Reds wrap up the Thornton Invitational cross country meet. As the seventh race of the year comes to a close, the Reds are preparing nicely for the end of the season, with only their league and regional meets left. The generally fast Thornton times didn’t let the Reds down as many Eaton runners came across the line running their new personal best times. Logan Gullett (23) racked up yet another victory to his name, running his second best time. Gullett said, “I think the meet went very well. I’m proud of the team for pushing themselves to new heights. I am starting to pick up steam and won’t stop until I get that state title.” On the girl’s side, Andie Rasmussen (24) came across the line in tenth place, outrunning many, in a tough field.

The Reds also had a strong finish at the Patriot League meet in Wellington. Gullett claimed the title of “league champion” for the second time, running a time of 15:51. His heights are set high for not only himself, but for the entire team. The rest of the boys also finished well, many of them beating their previous personal bests, looking better than ever. The girls also didn’t disappoint, running many fast times as well. Rasmussen finished in seventh place, battling it out to the finish. The team is excited for the end of the season, where their fitness will really be put to the test. Jaxon Robson (26) said, “The end part of the season is so important because it is the hardest part; the part where you need to push yourself to PR and go above and beyond.”
