COVD-19’s Quarantine

COVD-19s+Quarantine

At Eaton High School, before the week of March 15th, panic spread. Students and teachers were left without information discussing time away from school. Online schooling had never occurred as a worry nor a thought, this was until the outbreak of the coronavirus.

COVID-19, it is a pandemic, dangerous, precocious, and fast spreading virus. It erupted in China and quickly made its mark throughout the entire world. Wuhan, a city in China is where it all began. In January the virus had affected 200 million children in China, this led to cancellations and closings. The results were online schooling for kids. As many know, it wasn’t  just China, it was everywhere, even in the United States.

The effect of this virus has impacted the world, as of right now it is making history and demonstrating how it is obtained. A problem like this is the first of its generation. For Colorado counties it has created issues, it is in the hands of the government, health departments, and district attorneys.

In Weld County, an announcement went public, Eaton High School’s very own principal Jay Tapia provided an email stating, “We will be implementing remote learning.” Announcements like this have now become the talk of all Colorado’s cities and towns.

Weld County and Larimer County are neighbors, what happens in Larimer will most likely happen in Weld. On March 25 an alert struck hundreds of phones. It was titled as an ‘Emergency Alert’ regarding public safety. This alarm said, “Larimer County Health Director issued a Stay at Home Order for Larimer County. The Order begins on March 26th at 5:00pm and will be in place through April 17th.”

Grocery stores, delivery, gas stations, and hospitals are the major services that continue to stay open. Social distancing devouring more and more departments. At the Windsor King Soopers on Main St there is a six feet customer-employee distance as well as a restriction of 3 items per food category. Letters have been sent home with many employees. These letters are to explain to the police (if pulled over) that they are on their way to work.

Information that has been released to the public has worried people. Anonymous customers at King Soopers have complained that it is ‘ridiculous’ and ‘overwhelming’. From Wuhan China all the way to Eaton Colorado this virus has attacked. It has left people in a questionable state. The world is in lockdown. Quarantine. Wash your hands, stay in school, stay safe. COVD-19 is everywhere, take precautions and trust the limitations.
