Stranger Things Season five is set to be released very soon. Stranger Things is a show full of suspense and plot twists. The last season aired in 2022, and there has been a stretch of excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season. Many fans are excited and have even made numerous predictions based on the trailer and the cliffhangers from Season 4. The Season left off with the state of Hawkins merging with the Upside Down, Will’s ongoing connection with the Upside Down, and leaving off with Max’s encounter with Vecna, leaving her in critical condition. Many fans have predicted new monsters for the show as well, and different outcomes and powers for the main character, Eleven. Alexis Kuskie (27), a student from EHS, said, “I’m excited for the new season to come out, and I plan to rewatch season four so I don’t forget little details.”

The new season will have eight episodes, the first one is called “Chapter One: The Crawl.” The season finale trailer shows a glimpse of what the episodes are going to include, a flashback of Will’s first encounter with Vecna when he gets stuck in the Upside Down. It goes on to show the rest of the characters, specifically Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers, in a battle to defend and protect Hawkins against Vecna and the many demogorgons. At the end, it shows many demagrogans flashing in and out, attacking, ending with Vecna grabbing Will as he is in a desperate attempt to escape after a large explosion and saying, “You are going to help me one last time.” 

The show remains in the time zone of the 80s. The show is produced by Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen, as well as the Duffer brothers. The producers chose to make Stranger Things in the 1980s era for many reasons; they chose it based on 80s films, books, and overall culture. Matt Duffer said in a CBS Morning’s interview, “There’s something about movies of the 80s.. They felt bigger than life, and that’s what we wanted to capture.” The Duffer brothers wanted to replicate something that reminded them of their childhood. This is shown in everything about the show, the clothes the characters wear, places like the mall, and Hawkins High School. A sense of nostalgia is also created with the upside-down, making it look like a dream with its dim colors. There are still many fans making their guesses on what’s to come in the new season.
