Eaton’s four choirs, directed by Christina Contreras, performed Tuesday night, Feb. 28, including the Women’s Choir, Men’s Choir, Bella Voce, and Troubadours. The different choirs are made up of different grade levels and vary from being non-audition and audition groups. The women’s choir, made up of 55 singers, started the night off by going among the audience and performing the first song of the night, “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars.The Men’s Choir performed after the Women’s Choir, followed by Bella Voce presenting their songs adorned in red dresses. The Troubadours, a group consisting of eight males and eight females, performed in glittering attire after Bella Voce.

This cycle of choirs was repeated once more with less formal performances. Women’s choir performed a song dressed in jeans and black and white shirts and jackets, accompanied by the electric guitar played by Emma Weaver (17). The Men’s Choir performed a well-done cover of “Great Balls of Fire” after the Women’s Choir. Belle Voce then amazed the audience, coming to the stage clad in raggedy clothing and armed with brooms, buckets, and brushes to provide musical accompaniment to their voices and piano in their performance of “It’s a Hard Knock Life”. The Troubadours performed a foreign folk song with the complements of a drum played by Logan Doddridge, Eaton’s band director. David Garcia (18), a member of the men’s choir and Troubadours, said, “I enjoy choir because I love singing and it is one of my few passions.” All of the choirs came together for a final astounding song, adorned in their original attire for the last performance of the night. The choirs will be going to the CHSAA Choir Festival on Thursday, April 6. Their final concert of the school year is Thursday, May 11.
