With many trending artists popping up on social media, it creates a trend in their music and their everyday lives. Music artist Jordan Terral Carter, known as Playboi Carti, is a male rapper in the US who has recently begun to increase his fame after his new album release Music released on March 14, 2025. The album has 30 different tracks along with a deluxe version called “Sorry for the Wait” with four additional tracks.
Many fans feared for the album’s release after hints of a new album came out. Leading up, an Instagram story was posted on Playboi Carti’s instagram with a “I am the Music” box. There were also many people who had spotted the same type of image that was posted on the instagram story but on billboards in very public places such as Times Square in New York City. EHS freshman Kinslee Nichols said, “I think Carti’s old music is better than the new music released but I still think he is an amazing artist. It has been known for a while that we were dropping but the new release was getting pushed off for a while which had fans wondering when the release would be. After seeing all the dropped hints on social media I knew he would be releasing not long after that which made me excited.” Carti fans had a long suspense for his drop but most of the internet is now using his music especially on platforms like TikTok.
Carti gained his most attention after releasing tracks like “Broke Boi” and “Fetti”. His most popular and streamed song is “Magnolia” which is also a constantly used sound on TikTok. Freshman Kinzy Kahn said, “ I honestly love Carti’s new album. I think it will be a big hit especially with Carti going on tour and opening for the weekend. I would say my favorite song from him now is “Rather Lie” which also has the weekend in it but I also love the song “Magnolia”. I have been listening to his music for a couple years now and will continue to.” With Carti opening for The Weeknd, fans are very excited to see what the future has to come.
Carti is taking a large influence on the internet and is moving up on music charts. While he is a very unpredictable artist, he holds tension on his fans with excitement.
