Duo sets record as first #1 Doubles to claim state championship
In the Reds’ first 3A state tennis tournament Courtney Leafgren (17) and Shelby Naill (17) claimed a first-place title for number-one doubles, making EHS history as the first team to win the 3A number-one doubles title.The team placed fifth overall, and had three varsity positions place in the finals. Myiah Scott (17) placed fourth in number-one singles, and Sydney Booth (19) and Mikaelee Salberg (19) placed fourth in number-four doubles. Overall, the Reds racked up 30 team points, beating Steamboat Springs (28 points) out of the fifth place spot. D’evelyn won first place as a team in the tournament with 57 points. Dawson and Colorado Academy tied for second place with 54 points each.
