To help Sturdevant family, local pizzeria donates proceeds
By Sarah Jakel
Justine’s Pizza took giving back to a new level within the Eaton community. A Go Fund Me page was started to help the family of Braedy Sturdevant (18). Currently people have raised $9,705 in 8 days on the page. The money raised will go to covering funeral expenses and additional costs. On February 8, Justine’s decided to donate the profits from the night to the family. The local pizza place will donate 50% of the proceeds, 100% of tips made and the employees working that night will donate their wages. The people who worked were Ryleigh (18) and Lainee Hauer(19), Anders Swanbom (17), Emilie Julch (18) and Eaton alumni Landon Koelzer and Jordan Stromberger. Helping make the night run smoothly was Ryleigh and Lainee’s mom and Emilie’s mom. At the end of the night on Wednesday, the money count was at $2,700 without employee wages being included yet.
“Eaton is a small community and everyone knows everyone and we wanted to show that. Community is there when something like that happens,” Ryleigh Hauer (18) said. Sturdevant and his family came in to Justine’s to thank everyone. According to Hauer, the line was out the door by 5 o’clock.
Eaton came together as one to support a local family and if you would like to contribute to the Go Fund Me page you can click here.
