Eaton High School girl’s basketball win against Brush
The Lady Reds extended their winning streak on the road against the Brush Beetdiggers, winning 57-47 on January 20. The score was tied 12-12 at the end of the first quarter, and at halftime, the score was 33-22 in favor of Eaton. At the end of the third quarter, Eaton was up 47-35. Things got much more physical to start the fourth quarter. Both teams began to rack up fouls, and Brush was able to outscore Eaton for the first time, 12-10 in the fourth quarter. At one point, Brush was within three points from Eaton. The Reds maintained composure and were able to finish with a final score of 57-47.
Jayde Contreras (17) was the top scorer for Eaton with 14 points. Behind her was Addie Randel (20) with 13, and Sydney Booth (19) and Brynn Millett (17) both scored 8 points. Millett drained two three point shots out of three attempts, earning a percentage of 67 from beyond the arc, and earned a game-high 9 rebounds. Overall, Eaton had 29 rebounds and 17 personal fouls.
Up next, Eaton (10-2 overall) will play rival Platte Valley (5-7). Platte Valley recently beat Estes Park (6-5 overall) by two points. The Reds will play the Broncos January 24 at home.
