Josh Gregory (16), Kendall Vannest (17), Kinsey Mawson (17), Logan O’Connell, Megan Hawthorn (16), Sierra Westmoreland (16), Alex Adams (16), Remington Brown (16), Griffin Stanton (16), Aaron Lichtenberg (16) and Kaden Zink (18) are heading to state FBLA.
Chris Love and Shelly Tregoning led a group of students to a FBLA District Conference on Feb. 3. If the students had already planned a prior event, they competed in that event. Hawthorn said, “We go to a couple of different workshops and compete in our events.” Events included a range of items including website design and public speaking. Students that did not participate in events went to workshops to further develop their leadership skills.
A total of twenty students competed at the conference. Lichtenberg competed in business plan. Adams and Gregory competed in website designing. Alie Hodgson (16) and Westmoreland did a job interview. Bruk Teshome (16) and Zink talked about emerging bus issues. Courtney Leafgren (17), Lainee Hauer (19) and Shelby Naill (17) all talked public speaking. Stanton and Brown were involved with graphic design. Vannest and Mawson brought 3D animation to the table. Kylyn Suarez (16) and Tarynn Sieg (16) were put on the spot with impromptu speaking. O’Connell and Hawthorn were involved with a public service announcement. Hawthorn said, “It’s a great opportunity to learn how to be successful after high school and meet new people.”
