Horror High took center stage and brought the laughs along with the twists and turns of a mystery on Nov. 19, 20, 21. The student lounge was the the place of all mystery for the students at Toombs High School. Debra, Audrey and Edna were the girls of the school and Edna, Tarynn Sieg (17), was deemed as the watergirl. Clint, Colton Ingram (16), and Burt, Lucas Halferty (16) were dreaming of going to Hollywood with their films. Toombs High School is not any regular high school. An Asylum is up the road and the phones rarely work properly. Debra, Audrey, Edna, Clint, Burt and Evelyn stayed at the high school over Thanksgiving break.
Marcus Toombs was seeking his revenge on the school since he did not win prom king years before. The twists and turns that come with this play will keep anyone on edge and always guessing. Mrs. Wellington played by Alie Hodgson (16), was the only one who knew about the situation with Marcus. Hodgson said, “Playing a different character is extremely fun because it gives a purpose. I got to play a bossy house mother, and, yes, I am a responsible and anxious person in real life, but the character gave me a purpose even if it was to help others become responsible.” Being apart of a production has its ups and downs but Hodgson said overall it was good. Hodgson said, “The whole experience was overwhelming, but in a good way. We exhausted ourselves with the time and effort spent in practices and memorizing lines. We often got upset with each other, but we all eventually came together as one big family to make a fun and encouraging environment and production. I enjoyed it immensely and would do it all over again. I gained so many friendships and am very thankful for them; they are all wonderful individuals.”
