The theater brought life to an empty auditorium with the One Act Plays night. The first skit was called, “Check Please,” and the second one was “My Prom Date Is A Felon.” The leads for the first skit were Tarynn Sieg (17) and Kylyn Suarez (16), and Luke Pickett (18) and McKenzie Reiher (17) starred in “My Prom Date Is A Felon.”
Blind dates are never fun and that is what happened to Sieg and Suarez. Sieg enjoys how close everyone is and that the crowd played along with the actors. It went back and forth between horrible dates, such as stealing and stuffing items up a shirt. Jerry Vasquez (16) was even a trash bag. Alle Daniels (18) was clingy and wanted to get married right away. This skit was hilarious and brought horrible blind dates to life. It brought humor and truth together in one place.
Pickett sat in a fancy restaurant on prom night and people were being rude to him. Reiher came along and protected him and his honor. She had a taser among other things and escaped from a juvenile facility. The police were after her since she has escaped. In the end, Pickett goes to prom with her. She ended up turning in the popular girl, Teleah Riegel (18). Pickett said, “The experience was such a rush. It was my first time as a big part in front of an audience and the adrenaline helped so much when I got out there and it just happened. The play makes the audience ultimately feel bad for Pickett. Humor and laughter roared through the crowd. This was a truly great time.
The production class worked very hard to bring laughter to the auditorium that night. Overall, it was a great show and production needs to make more of these happen throughout the year. Neither Pickett or Sieg would change the way the night went.
