During the 2024-25 school year, Eaton embarked on a pivotal journey to find the next superintendent. After a series of intense interviews, thoughtful discussions, and a seamless transition, Todd Cordrey emerged as the clear choice to lead the district.
Cordrey has had an incredible first semester with the Eaton school district, he said, “It has been energizing, humbling, and incredibly rewarding. I’ve spent much of the semester visiting classrooms, talking with students, collaborating with staff, meeting families, and learning about the strengths and traditions that make Eaton the best school district in the state.” He has seen pride firsthand at the plays, concerts, assemblies, athletic events, and amongst the community. Based on what he has seen from the community, he said, “Eaton has a powerful culture of winning.”
His favorite career memory from Eaton was receiving a welcome basket from some students that included swag, homemade goods, and a true, heartfelt welcome. He has plans to build on the many strengths while supporting the established tradition and values in the schools. “I’m also excited for the district to launch a new website and app in January to highlight the incredible things our students accomplish every day,” Cordrey said. He is passionate about career-connected learning strategies, and these will make school engaging and fun for both students and staff.
One thing that he loves about being at Eaton is the people. Eaton is full of students who care about one another, their families, their teachers, and their community. “There is genuine pride–when people say ‘Once a Red, Always a Red,’ they truly mean it. That sense of belonging is something I deeply value. I am grateful and blessed to have been selected to serve in Eaton,” Cordrey said.
Cordrey concluded his interview by saying, “I have the best job in the state.” He truly has felt a part of the Eaton culture, and is excited to further embed it in the schools. He hopes to continue the traditions established here and celebrate incredible things among the community, both great and small.
