For the last 14 years, Fritzler’s Corn Maze, just south of LaSalle, has been supplying fun and scares in the signature corn maze over the Halloween season. Every year, the mazes’ shape follows a theme, such as Peyton Manning (2012), or a crying bald eagle (2013). This year, the people at the Fritzler’s corn maze have decided to go the route of thanking everyday heroes in the community. The maze spans 15 acres and contains over two miles of winding pathways. The entire maze contains two different phases, or paths, that one can take. When the sun sets, the second phase of the corn maze begins, and hauntings start in the maze. Fritzler’s opens Sept. 20, and goes on over the weekends in September. In October, the maze is open Wednesday through Sunday, closed on Monday and Tuesday. Fritzler’s has more than mazes. Attractions such as the Paintball bus, the jumping pillow, and, new for 2014, the Ball Zone. “A carnival like opportunity to shoot baskets, toss a football or pitch a baseball,” according to the website.
