The girls basketball team lost 52-30 against Holy Family in their first round at State in Colorado Springs on Thursday, March 13. Holy Family led throughout the entire game,but took their biggest pull-away in the third quarter with a 16-6 lead. The team played exceptionally well nonetheless, and was able to stay on Holy Family’s heels in the 1st and 2nd quarters. The top players for the Reds were Bailey Jones (15), Bailey Schumacher (16), and Sami Muse (14), who each led the team with 6 points apiece. The girls will play Peak to Peak in a consolation game at 8:45 on Friday, Mar. 14 at the Air Force Academy. Update** The girls lost to the Peak to Peak Pumas in their State consolation game, with a final score of 44-57. Their season is now over, and after a long and largely successful season, the girls are headed home. The top players of the game were Bailey Schumacher (16), who scored 9 points, and Bailey Jones, who followed closely with 9 points.
