The Northridge Cheerleaders had a big day December 7 when they took top ten in state. Not only is this big news for NHS located on the west side of Greeley, but also for Eaton High School due to Ashton Baker (16) Rachel Croissant (16) Anna-Meta Boll (14) Hannah Maskos (14) and DJ Stover (15) who have all joined the NHS team since Eaton High School’s cheerleading team has been cut due to low funding. However, placing in state is not the end of the road for this group of cheerleaders. December 27 has been inching closer for this team as it prepares for the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, California. The Holiday Bowl is a post-season NCAA Division I-A college football game that has been played annually at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California since 1978. The team will take part in the halftime show where cheerleaders from all over the nation come together for one performance. The entire group will perform a choreographed dance, and then finish off by showing their stunts. Baker said, “We have a pretty good program with good leaders. We are all very dedicated which makes it easy to pull together as a team.” The group of cheerleaders has a long trip ahead of them as they leave December 26 and arrive home the 31. Baker was unsure if the halftime show will be shown on ESPN; however, viewers can tune into the game against the Baylor Bears and the UCLA Bruins at the Holiday Bowl on this channel.
What does that spell? San Diego!
