Becca Doughty (21) is enlisting in the Coast Guard this coming fall. Doughty has spent her time at Eaton High School participating in athletics and leadership clubs. She is involved in Student Council, FCCLA, FBLA, Link Leadership, Cross Country, and Track. She also managed Cross Country this year, as she was unable to run.

In any extracurricular or academic setting, it is important for students to feel seen and heard. Doughty said, “I hope people remember me as a student who was always nice and willing to talk to everyone. I think it’s important to let others know you’re there for them and a safe place to confide.” Student leadership clubs have helped Doughty develop skills to lead younger students in Link.

“As a leader, I think it’s important to help people feel included and like they matter. That is what I try to do for others. I hope to make everyone I encounter feel needed and important here,” said Doughty.
