The Eaton cross country team had a bittersweet ending at Regionals, on October 19. Running their best times, both boys and girls came short to make it to state. Boys placed eighth with an average time of 18:40. With CHSAA only taking the top 15 individuals and top four teams, the boys fell behind 87 points from Berthoud High School. The girls placed fifth with an average time of 21:46. Tailing behind Estes park who placed fourth and had an average time of 21:44, the cross country girls led to a bittersweet ending as they send off Mckenna Cyphers (19) to state. Cyphers said,” It was a bittersweet feeling at regionals realizing it was my last race with an incredible team. I love this team and all the memories we’ve made this season. Everyone is so hardworking!” Cyphers placed as an individual for state by placing 13 overall with a time of 20:55. She will be running at the State Championships in Colorado Springs this Saturday the 28.
