Jaryn Guerra, Adviser

Jaryn’s passion revolves around the written word. From a young age, she discovered the true power of reading and writing and witnessed the potential of words firsthand. Using her knowledge and love for the subject, Jaryn created a career and future. After high school, she went to Colorado State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English Education and later went on to pursue her Master of Arts degree in English from Arizona State University. After graduating from CSU in 2017, Jaryn began teaching English at the high school level. This school year will be her sixth year of teaching, and her fifth year teaching at Eaton. With her positive attitude and infectious enthusiasm, Jaryn has been encouraging students to be the best they can be since the day she arrived at the school.  As Jaryn's third year as Eaton Red Ink adviser, she is eager to help students have a voice. She is determined to show kids their rights and freedoms while also teaching them real-world writing skills. When Jaryn isn’t in the classroom inspiring students, she is either coaching cross country or track and field, working on her fitness with her husband Joshua, hiking, reading, hanging out with her cats, or spending quality time with her family and son, Atlas. Jaryn is excited for this new opportunity and can’t wait to show the school what the newsroom is capable of.
