For the fifth time in seven years, the Kansas City Chiefs will head to the Super Bowl, chasing back-to-back-to-back Super Bowl wins. The Philadelphia Eagles are looking for payback after being defeated by the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII on Feb. 12, 2023. This rematch has set the stage for an intense showdown that fans are eagerly awaiting.
However, the Chiefs’ repeated appearances in the big game have left some fans feeling fatigued. EHS teacher Cameron Stewart said, “the NFL is rigged and wants T-Swift there to boost ratings.” With the Chiefs in pursuit of a third straight Super Bowl victory, suspicions are growing about whether the NFL secretly favors them.
The AFC Championship game between the Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills was controversial, with some calls sparking heated debate. The game has caused numerous memes and major brands begin to speak about the Chiefs possibly being the NFL’s chosen team. EHS Sophomore Connor Kinnison said, “I believe that the Chiefs have too many calls that are blatantly unfair and I think they are a bunch of cheaters.”As a result, many NFL fans are rallying behind the Eagles, vowing to boycott the Super Bowl all together if it means putting an end to the Chiefs’ dominance. The Eagles, consistently a top-three team for several seasons, are finally ready to claim their moment in the spotlight. Quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has worked very hard to grow since the last Super Bowl loss, is determined to shake off the underdog label once and for all. Kinnison said, “The Eagles need to give the ball to Saquan Barkley because the running game will help and our defense needs to play tough and go for turnovers. “
Meanwhile, the atmosphere at EHS is buzzing with excitement. Students can be overheard passionately debating their favorite teams as they gear up for the Lombardi Trophy showdown. The anticipation is contagious, with many eagerly counting down the days to the matchup.
The game will take place on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the iconic Caesars Superdome. With tickets reportedly selling for $10,000 each, this rematch for the title is not only a battle of wills but also a high-stakes event that fans are willing to invest in.
