Reds football leaves its mark on the next Fightin’ Reds
As this year’s highschool players compete on the football field and walk the hallways of EHS, they leave a behind their humble character and become the inspiration of the future generations of the Eaton Reds to follow their steps. Eaton elementary boys practiced their skills alongside varsity football players on Thursday, Aug. 2. Excited and eagerly ready to absorb all they can learn, the elementary boys have gone through tough practices to improve their skills and to inspire them to become the next generation of the Fightin’ Reds. Zac Lemon said, “It’s a great way to get to know some of the young kids, but even more importantly for the young kids to get to know the varsity and highschool players. I love the interaction that the highschool players get with the young guys and the relationship that they build. The plan is to hopefully build young good football players, but also to build excitement in the football players.” Lemon, head coach of the football team, has been hosting a camp for the future reds, to inspire them to play football and give them the opportunity to meet and build a bond with the players they will be seeing on the field for this year’s Friday nights. Many of the high school boys looked forward to the camp. “I feel grateful that I’m in the position to be able to give back to the community and help these children and the future of the Eaton culture,” said Jeremy Murano(19). “Most importantly though, we are helping these kids mature into young men and help them with responsibility and respect.” With passion, the high school football team has proudly taught them skills to not only be varsity-worthy players for their future years in the high school, but also have taught them to become respectful and humble men. Dakota Powell (20) said, “I enjoy the feeling of helping the next generation of Eaton football develop into young men.”
