Annual FFA end of year banquet
The FFA Banquet is an annual event put on to acknowledge the chapters of growth as a whole, as well as the individual members that make up the chapter. The event was held on Monday April 23, at Eaton High school where awards were handed out to individuals who won competitions throughout the year.
FFA Member Jason Landen said, “The banquet is awesome. It is great to see how people who went through the program decades ago come and support all of us who are doing it today. It feels great to be part of such a proud tradition here at Eaton.”
Community members were brought together for a great meal made by the district’s Foods Service Director, Becky Lawhead, to celebrate this year’s success.
FFA President, Lauren Froid (18) said, “My last year of FFA was spectacular. This year’s officer team went really above and beyond with getting more members to participate and it worked. It is so exciting to see the incoming freshman’s excitement about agriculture. The last 4 years have been beyond amazing. I have been so extremely blessed to be part of such an amazing chapter and have learned so much throughout.”
Big shoes will need to be filled due to the departure of 17 seniors.
FFA Treasurer Rylee Daniels (18) said, “I joined late into FFA and I enjoyed being a leader and having the opportunity to help our chapter. FFA is always open to new people, if you think you are too late to join you’re not, give it a try.”
