Eaton community races to the finish for local girl
At this point around the end of year, we all need to find something to be grateful for. For many, Thanksgiving is spent with family and friends, while eating an ideal Thanksgiving feast. For others it’s to spend a Thanksgiving without worrying of their families health or their financial stability. Last year at this time of giving, Gunner Clary, a fifth grader at Benjamin Elementary School, created a new way to help and bring the community closer together. Clary initiated a 5k run in hopes to raise money for families in need. This year all the proceeds will be going to Arli Luna (21), as she battles brain cancer. Many other fundraisers have been in action to help raise money for Luna’s family as they battle brain cancer and the extensive costs of chemotherapy.
The 2nd Annual Thanks4Giving 5k will be hosted at the Eaton Rec Center. The packet pick-up time will be between 9:00 and 9:45 a.m. The race starts at 10 a.m.
Running 5k- 18 & over: $25.00
Running 5k- 18 & under: $20.00
Running 5k- Family (4-6): $90.00
