Eaton places second at Patriot League Tournament
Grossenbacher only three behind leader
Eaton brought home second place Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Coyote Creek Golf Course in Fort Lupton. Out of the 12 teams who participated, Sterling took first place both as a team and in individual scoring. Peter Grossenbacher (19) golfed a 70 and said he is primed for regionals. The team, minus senior golfer Ethan Alcazar, played one of its best tournaments yet. Walker Scott and Bryce Leafgren both scored a 76, only one stroke out of the top five.
The team will go into Regionals Tournament ranked fourth in 3A standings at Common Ground Golf club in Aurora on Monday, Sept. 18. Coach Gino Maio said he is excited about how the team has progressed this season. “The boys are playing their best golf now which is needed to be successful in golf for the postseason,” Maio said. “The team will enjoy the addition of senior Ethan Alcazar for Regionals which will be a nice asset.”
