Eaton High School’s wrestling team win against Strasburg and Lyons

The Eaton wrestling team destroyed both Strasburg 64-7 and Lyons 57-6. Jake Sandau (18) started Eaton’s match off against Strasburg the 12 by defeating his opponent and scoring the Red’s first points of the match. After Eaton had achieved 34 points for themselves, Strasburg brought the score from 34-0 to 34-3 by winning a match against Jackson Contreras (19). Following Strasburg’s scoring of 3 points, the Reds proceeded to rack up points through Ariel Rodriguez (18), who brought the Reds up 40-3. Then through David Pringle(18), Ty Garnhart (19), and Isaiah Salazar (20), the final score was made 64-7. Strasburg obtained the final points of the tournament.
Following the Red’s victory over Strasburg, Eaton went on to face the Lyons. They achieved another win for their team, beating the Lyons 67-6. The Reds started the match off once again, racking up 24 points for them. Rodriguez scored 6 more points for Eaton, bringing the Reds up to 30-0. After this, two forfeits raised Eaton’s score to 42-0. Isaiah Salazar and Grayson Lewis brought the score up even further to 52-0. Lyons scored their first and only point after the Red’s string of small victories. Sandau finished the tournament against Lyons by making the final score 57-6. The Eaton wrestling team’s next match is Thursday the 19 versus Estes Park.
