Donald Trump to be next President of the United States

America has voted, and Donald Trump has been determined to be the 45 President of the United States.
After a hard-fought, 18-month-long campaign, Trump has become the President-Elect with 276 electors in the Electoral College. As of the time of writing this article, there are still five states out counting votes, including Alaska, Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, and New Hampshire.
The results shocked the national media, most of which originally predicted that a Trump victory was less than 2 percent, including statistics website FiveThirtyEight.com.
As the night progressed, however, those ideas quickly changed as Hillary Clinton’s potential routes to a victory were taken by Trump. Most notably, Florida flipped back and forth between Democrat and Republican control before settling on a Trump victory. Michigan was also closely watched as Clinton made it as close as 13,000 votes before being called for Trump.
Clinton conceded the election to Trump in a private phone call at 2:30 am EST.
Trump said in a victory speech, “For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and unify our great country.”
He concluded the night saying, “The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.”
Trump will be inaugurated on January 20, 2017.
