Reds play SMHS Eagles to take 3A Regional Championship

The Reds varsity softball team became the 3A
Regional Champions after a game against St. Mary’s High School Eagles with a final score of 3-1, Reds.
At the top of the first, the Eagles left one on second after the reds got three outs. Following that, the Reds left two on base after a run by number 5 Remington Ross, making the score 1-0 Reds.
In the second inning, the Eagles tied the game right before leaving a runner on first. An Eaton batter struck out with three runners on base.
The Reds ended the top of the third with a caught ball, leaving one Eagle stuck on base. In the bottom of the third, the Reds scored two runs, bringing the score 3-1 Reds. One runner got out on the tag after sliding into third base.
After four three-up three-down innings, the Reds finished up in the bottom of the seventh to become the 3A Region 3 champions. Assistant Coach Chad Shaw said, “This was one of those games where everyone had to come together to get the win.” He continued: “With all of the injuries the last few weeks, this is a great win.”
The Reds will play in the State Tournament Friday Oct. 21.
