Key Club helps Eaton High School and other communities in the Weld County District by doing community service. The name may suggest that the Key Club makes keys, but that is not what they do. The key club works hard to do community service and be kind to everyone. The president of the club, Karalee Kothe (16) said, “Key club’s main focuses are to be kind to everyone and do community service. These are the two pillars of Key Club. Everyone in Key Club all are kind, and that helps us toward our goals.” Key Club consists of students who come to their meeting regularly on Tuesdays during lunch. During their Tuesday meetings, the club members discuss different ideas that have and want to do. Key Club advisor, Kayla Johnson said, “I don’t really do anything, the students are in charge of everything. Janae Jarnagin (19) said, “I wanted to join the club since it was great community service, and I could help other people. The club is where you can support other people and you can get support yourself from the members.” Jarnigan joined the club by attending the meetings weekly, like most of the members currently in the club. The club members went down to Madison Elementary School in December to help set up their Christmas party. On the 21st the Key Club members went out to the Guadalupe Center to make and serve dinner to homeless people.
