Eaton High School is recognized for its ability to produce some of the best athletes in the entire state. The starting guard for the Eaton Reds Football team is considered to be the most dedicated member on the whole team. With 100% off season attendance, Andres Rincon (17) is more than prepared to step up and lead the Reds offense, but his dedication reaches more areas than just the football field.
Rincon worked hard to get a twenty pound increase on his squat max this summer putting his overall personal record at 300 pounds. He is most proud of this number because of the difficulties he originally had with the lift. Rincon said that one of his favorite places to be is in the gym. He feels at home when he is moving heavy weight. He finds gratification in seeing himself becoming bigger, faster, and stronger. The max lifts for this 16 year old consist of a 390 pound dead lift, a 215 pound bench, a 185 pound power clean, and a 135 military press.
The overall goal that Rincon has is one few people have ever accomplished. Though many dream of being a marine, little actually make steps towards being successful in making that dream a reality. Rincon has been working for three years to be ready to become a United States Marine. For as long as Rincon can remember he has wanted to become a Marine. When Rincon entered middle school he decided to take his dream seriously. He began to workout every day. Eventually Rincon shredded ten percent body fat and replaced all of that weight with muscle. Today the 203 pound lineman has only 10% body fat.
Along with the physical side of Rincon comes the mechanical side. Spending countless hours and even years on his cars, Rincon is considered to have some of the nicest cars in Eaton. The Rincon family has a passion for classic cars. Their motto “Self Built Not Bought” evokes respect from many of those who view the Rincon Families’ cars. They have won multiple awards and have entered their cars in the Eaton Car Show for the last couple of years. Their collection consists of a 1979 Chevy C-10, a 1982 Chevrolet C-10 custom Shortbox, and a 1979 Ford F-150… and those are just the ones Andres has personally worked on. The families collection has three more classic cars.
Rincon’s dedication does not come without struggle. He has to work hard academically to keep good grades. Even though he pays attention, he struggles to remember what he has learned. He makes sure to take good notes during all of his classes and always gets extra help when he needs it. He refuses to fail a class and is willing to put in the long hours of studying to make sure that never happens.
Andres Rincon is consistently the best player on the offensive line. His work ethic helps him to be able to fill that role on a daily basis. The coaches, players, and community are excited to see what Rincon will do in his last year.
