The Eaton High School Band stole the show with their winter concert on December 9, at the EHS Auditorium. Starting out with the Jazz Combo band with their starting piece “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore” by Duke Ellington arrangement by Roger Pemberton, with solo done by Tyler Whitaker. Followed by “Rakin’ And Scrapin’” by Harold Mabern with solos of Emilie Julch, Michael Wright, and Karalee Kothe, “So What” by Miles Davis With solos of Stephen Haw and Stefan Gerkin, and “Night Train” by Jimmy Forrest with solos of Dominic Pierot, Houston Clevenger, and Stefan Gerkin. Afterwords the Jazz Ensemble went with the songs “My Favorite Things” by Richard Rodgers arranged by Paul Murtha, with solos of Sarahy Quintana, Stephen Haw Emilie Julch, and Emma Weaver, “Blue Rondo a la Turk” by Dave Brubeck with solos of Ali dyer, Emilie Julch,and Tyler Whitaker, and “Hummin’” by Nat Adderley arranged by Ronald Barrett with solos of Emma Weaver, and Tyler Whitaker. Concert band then played “A Joyful Christmas” by Randall D. Standridge, “With Every Winter’s Breath” by Randall D. Standridge with solos of Adam richling on trumpet and Hannah Bott on Clarinet, and the last song of “Le Vie Parisienne” by Jaques Offenbach arranged by Kenneth Singleton.
