The Eaton Red’s wrestling squad ran away with the Chuck Annand invitational title by nineteen points to win the tournament for the second year in a row. The Red’s had two champions in Rusty Lohr (16) who beat Arnoldo Maltos-Garcia (16) from Brush 12-4, and Blake Miller (16) who beat Dillon Donaghy (16) 4-0. David Pringle (18) and Erich Russ (16) wrestled to a second-place finish, while six other team members joined them on the podium with either third or fourth place finishes. The Eaton Reds were joined by 16 other teams including state runner-up Brush, but were still able to leave Akron with a team title. “Everyone contributed to the win,” said Tony Mustari who won his first team tournament as the new head coach.Miller, a senior said,“It’s nice to be able to contribute to the team win,and it’s a great starting ground for this season.” Lohr won his second individual title for the invitational this weekend saying “It was a good win, but state championships are not won in December.” The team travels to Brush for a conference dual on Dec. 10 and later to Cheyenne South to compete in the Charlie Lake tournament on Dec. 12.
