The Eaton High School journalism program inducted four new members into Quill and Scroll International Honor Society last week on May 5. The new members consist of Lydia Bradley (15), Rae Wood (15), Karalee Kothe (16), and Kaci Jurgensmeier (16). All of these students won a reward from Best of Colorado for their work this year. Bradley, this year’s editor-n-chief and won third place for Facing Pages Design for “Keeping the score on the mascot” along with Amy Phillips (15). Phillips also won second place for Critical Review. Wood won third place for News-Feature Photo and Caption and first place for Photo Graphic Illustration along with Kothe. Kothe won a trifecta earning first place for Lifestyle News-Feature, second place for General Column, and third place for Lifestyle Photo and Caption. Jurgensmeier won first place for Lifestyle Coverage, two third place wins for Photo Essay and Breaking News Coverage, and one honorable mention for Single Page Design. Darius Duran (17) stole first place for Sports Column. Quill and Scroll is distinguished honor society. The charter was established in Eaton in 1962.
