The Boy’s basketball team’s most recent victory took place at home for the Reds against their Patriot League rival, the Platte Valley Broncos (3-5, 1-2) on Jan. 13. The Reds were able to beat them with a 19-point deficit to finish the game with a final score of 68-49. The Reds kept the game close in the first-quarter making it a one-point game, but quickly turned the momentum of the game around after outscoring the Broncos by 9 into the half. The Reds hung to their lead and just continued to push their offense in the second half and were able to walk away with a win. Nearing the halfway point of the season, the Red’s Boy’s Basketball team is looking to turn their sub .500 season around and are optimistic of playoff season soon. The basketball team is currently ranked 17th in state, and have a league record of 3-3, and a total record of 4-5. Their upcoming schedule consists of ten Patriot league contestants with only five games remaining this season. The Reds are nearing playoff season and hope to make it further than their last season where they were eliminated in the first game of the Patriot League Tournament.
The Boy’s basketball team’s next game takes place on Jan. 16 against their rival, the Strasburg Indians (3-5, 2-4), the game will be an important away game for the Reds to further their current momentum.
