With only one loss to their names, the Eaton Reds’ volleyball team continues to dominate through the regular season, stomp through the season with a total record of 16-1, and an undefeated league record of 10-0. Their latest game against the Frontier Academy Wolverines (6-9, 4-6) on Tuesday, Sept. 30 ended in a sweep taking the first three sets to send their fans home early. This is only one of the 13 games that the Reds have won with a sweep of all first three sets so far in the regular season. They have won ten games since their last update and suffered their first loss to the Grandview Wolves (8-5,1-1) on Saturday, Sept. 13, a top-five Colorado 5A volleyball team. Aside from their one loss, the Reds have only lost four sets, two of which were in a close game to the second-ranked Valley Vikings (14-2, 8-1), one against the University Bulldogs (9-5, 6-3), and one versus the Fossil Ridge Sabercats (9-4, 6-0). They have successfully established their number-one ranking in Colorado and are currently trailed closely by four other Patriot League teams. The volleyball team only has five more games left in the regular season, all against Patriot League rivals.
The Red’s next game will be in Strasburg against the Indians (0-10, 0-9) on Thursday, Oct. 2, and their next home game will be on Thursday, Oct. 16 against the Platte Valley Mustangs (10-5, 5-4).
