The Eaton Golf team strives for scores under 240 at each match, and they have since the beginning of the season. At the Estes Park Invitational on Sept. 10, the team golf score came in at 234 placing the team fourth out of fifteen teams. Reed Hodgson (15) finished with a 77, JD Truax (16) shot a 78, Andy Geisick (17) a 79. Eaton will host the next match, regionals, which will be held Sept. 17 at Greeley Boomerang Links on West 10th St. Predicting the team will take first in the class 3A regionals, Coach Gino Maio said, “On paper we’re probably the favorite team.” Truax, a member of the varsity golf team, said, “I like the consistency we have been playing with, I think we have the potential to shoot in the lower 70s, but any 70 round is great.” Teams can only take their top four golfers to regionals to compete against nine other 3A schools. The four Eaton golfers contending for the regional title are Hodgson, Truax, Geisick, and Jordan Stromberger (15). At the match, the CHSSA website will post live scoring the day of the match at http://chsaanow.com/live/scores/.
