Jadeyn Lampe, a senior girl with an indomitable spirit, exemplifies resilience and determination in the face of adversity. A passionate softball player, Jadeyn faced one of her greatest challenges when she tore her labrum during the summer before her final year. This injury threatened to diminish her potential on the field, yet rather than surrender to despair, she chose to confront this obstacle head-on. Despite the physical limitations imposed by her injury, Jadeyn remained committed to supporting her team and contributing as much as possible.
The decision to delay surgery until after the state championship was a testament to Jadeyn’s commitment and love for the game. This choice illustrates both a profound dedication to her teammates and an understanding of the importance of leadership in sports. While physically struggling with pain and limitations, Jadeyn took on the role of designated player, allowing herself a way to remain involved despite not being able to throw effectively. “It was a huge struggle not only physically but mentally as well because mentally I could throw, but my body just wouldn’t let me.” Lampe has also stated that her time on the field would not be without the complete support from her coach, Chad Shaw and Lampe thanks him every day for giving her the chance to play every game.
Along with Lampe’s other successes she is now committed to play softball in college. Lampe will be joining her sister at Garden City Community College and majoring in communications. Lampe is pursuing her dream of becoming apart of the sports media world. She has already started her journey as a photographer, working mainly with the girls basketball team and the Eaton community that reach out for her services. Balancing softball and her future will be nothing new to Lampe who has school, baseball managing, and a job that she is already balancing.
Jadeyn Lampe is a hard working and driven young woman. The future for Lampe is bright and she strives for absolute excellence in everything she does. Eaton High School is just the beginning to so many students’ lives and successes. No matter where Lampe ends up in life she was once and always will be an Eaton Fighting Red.
