Originally opening on August 12, 2019, Coffee House Ten24 would be the beginning of a lengthy road of continuous management change.
Ten24 Coffee house was opened in August of 2019, in 2022 the new management led to the creation of Coffee House 29. Then again new management closed the doors of Coffee House 29, and opened the doors of Tradecraft Coffee.
In April of 2018 former manager Doris Meeker started to assemble a team to work for her non-profit organization at the Ten24 Coffee House. The Roy & Gloria Dinsdale Foundation primarily funded Ten24 through generous grants.
The establishment would sell works made by survivors, and donate the money to foundations that helped single parent families and trafficking survivors get on their feet. There were always stunning decor items and art works up in the coffee house for sale, that anyone could purchase at any time.
It offered a Christian centered coffee house experience, and educated the community on these issues. Ten24 closed its doors in 2022 for unforeseen reasons that were not released to the public.
Under new management Ten24 Coffee House became Coffee House 29. Under the same foundation that Ten24 built, Coffee House 29 also existed to be a non profit organization to save children from sex trafficking. And to rescue and rehabilitate them with the help of law enforcement.
Many groups of ministries through churches would meet here weekly, and discuss where they could meet the needs of the community. They worked well with the women’s ministries, Evangelical Free Church and Christ Community, are just a few.
The building was remodeled after the change in management, and given a modern farmhouse aesthetic. The same works made by survivors were still sold and coffee vending as usual.
Tradecraft Coffee opened its doors in June of 2024, and business has been consistent since. The new management wanted to rebrand, according to an instagram post they said, “By differentiating from the Windsor Coffee House 29 location, our goal is to become an Eaton specific location separately rather than a multi-location coffee shop.”
They still exist to offer donations for non-profit organizations and foundations helping the trafficking of young children. In an instagram post, Tradecraft said, “These partners hold the same core values of excellence and community, and will continue to build upon the great foundation that was laid by Coffee House TEN24 and Coffee House 29.” In key to doing this, they swore to become more present in daily operations.
Whether or not remodels are possible for Tradecraft coffee, they have not disclosed if they are going to make the decision to allow them at this time.
Maddie Robson, an employee at Tradecraft said, “The culture is very easy going, encouraging, and fun. Oftentimes, you’ll become quickly acquainted with your coworkers.”
Regarding the work environment and values of those around her. Robson said, “Each of our bosses is very polite and good at communicating.” Robson is a barista and has been working there for three and a half months. “The best part of my job is that I can bond with my coworkers, who are all encouraging, team players, and kind!” Robson said.
