After high school, Karley Riggs (25) plans on attending AIMS Community College to obtain her EMT certification and then plans to pursue further education to become a paramedic.
At Eaton High School, Riggs is an active member of the Troubadours, Bella Voce and the swimming team. Her passion for music extends beyond school as well; she has been a dedicated participant at the School of Rock since eighth grade. This involvement reflects her deep love for music, which she cherishes above many other things in her life.
Being heavily involved in activities within the school, Riggs is a natural leader. She explained that being a leader is important because “leading by example can make more of an impact than you may know.”
The most important word in the EATON acronym to Riggs is awareness. She emphasizes that awareness is crucial in all aspects of life, including school, grades and relationships. Riggs said, “It is extremely important to be aware of your own actions and those of people around you.
To Riggs, being an Eaton Red means taking pride in academics, extracurriculars and the sports opportunities available. She is leaving her legacy to be one of friendship and happiness. “I want my legacy to be known as someone who was friends with everyone and who was happy to be involved in all I am involved in,” said Riggs. Her journey through high school is a testament to her passions, awareness and leadership, making her a true embodiment of what it means to be an Eaton Red.
