As the school year began, EHS has had several posts on the TVs around the school. The posts have to do with upcoming events, games, news, etc. This helps the students of EHS as well as teachers to know what’s going on especially if they don’t listen to or hear the daily announcements.
One of the posts on the TV screens daily is a unique forecast for the school so that students and teachers know the weather and upcoming weather. Designer of the forecasts, GK Naill says “I decided to do them because I wanted to expand on the forecasts I was already planning to do for the reds reports.” Nail’s expertise expanded throughout him learning more than just what he is doing for the Reds report.
The forecast is very important and especially in school for people to look at and acknowledge. It helps people to have plans in advance and stay safe. Lots of work and preparation goes into this. Naill says “ I use weather models such as the GFS (global forecasting system) and HRRR (high-resolution rapid-refresh) through a platform called pivotal weather then put them into Adobe for the design, then they get transferred to the TVs. I got my creativity by messing with the design until I found what I liked. I also do photography and storm chasing, so I make the background pictures I take from my chases or from anywhere else.” Naill is helping out much of the EHS community by doing this.
Nail’s creativity and determination throughout doing the forecasts for the week help out EHS in many different ways. It is always good to know what’s ahead of you, especially in weather conditions to stay safe.
