MOVIE REVIEW: Neighbors
By: Sarah Jakel
From the director Nicholas Stoller comes the new summer time hit, Neighbors. Delta Psi Beta President Teddy (Zac Efron) and Vice President Pete (Dave Franco) and their fraternity move in next to the parents of a new born baby. Parents Mac Radner (Seth Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Rose Byrne) have a plan to try and keep the fraternity quiet so their baby girl can sleep at night. Mac and Kelly realize they need to take care of their baby but they want to party with the boys of Delta Psi too. The Delta Psi boys do not like the Radner’s but soon figure out that it is better to keep them on their side. Teddy lets the “old people” in to the party.
Efron and Rogen are a comedic duo. They bring the party to life with their quick wit and bubbling personalities. When the party will not quiet down, Mac and Kelly call the cops. This starts a war of shenanigans between the fraternity and the new parents and homeowners.
“Neighbors” brought $49 million into movie theatres and topped the box office. This movie is rated R for crude humor, sexual content, and drug use throughout the movie. Young children should not watch this until they are a bit older. There are many laugh worthy moments that people will not soon forget.
