Reigning Super Bowl champions’ undefeated streak slipped through their fingers this past Sunday. Heading into Sunday’s game, the Kansas City Chiefs were 9-0 for the 2024 season, hoping to extend their perfect record. However, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills had other plans. The Buffalo Bills beat the Chiefs 30-21 and became the first team in the NFL to defeat the Chiefs this season. The rivalry between these two teams has grown stronger with each passing year, and whenever Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen face each other the game is always filled with high tension.

On November 10, 2024 The Chiefs fell short of the victory they were looking for and the team has done some serious evaluating. With critical players such as Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Noah Gray revealing what they thought after the game, it was apparent they were disappointed with the loss and their teams performance. Each player had their own take after the loss and shared their concerns.
Noah Gray after Sundays game said, “We just take it game by game. We’re just going to come back out to practice, be the best possible team that we can in practice, learn from it, look at the film and move forward, listen to our coaches, play as a team and ultimately be better for it down the road.”
The Chiefs have had a relatively successful season, but there have been some kinks along the way. From the most recent game against the Broncos, shortly coming out on top, the team has recognized the need to clean some things up for Sunday’s upcoming game. As the Chiefs’ regular season is coming to an end, these last few weeks are critical for their playoff picture and to secure home field advantage. For that reason the Chiefs will need to use their upcoming practices and games to regroup and find their rhythm.
Patrick Mahomes after Sundays game said, “This loss gives you a sense of urgency. We have a lot of veterans who know what we need to do, but, obviously, a loss kind of heightens everybody’s attention to detail. That will be the biggest thing. At the same time, we know it’s a long season. You lose a football game here and there and we just need to learn from that and be better next week.”
The Chiefs have an once in a lifetime opportunity this season to three peat winning a super bowl. With the personnel on the team it is understandable why Chiefs Kingdom thinks this can be achieved, but the question is if they will be able to make it happen. Many are doubtful the Chiefs can accomplish this difficult task considering the competition in the NFL currently. In the end many have doubted this team before and they still find a way to be playing their best football by the end of the season. Even though the Chiefs have struggled in their last few games, can they turn this loss into fuel to get back to the Chiefs team America has seen in the past.
