In the cutthroat world of entertainment, one man’s rise to the top becomes a target for manipulation and exploitation. The gripping tale of ambition, betrayal, and power struggles as a once-promising career takes a dark turn in the ruthless pursuit of success that follows behind the scenes of actors Amanda Bynes and Drake Bell. Being two young child actors isn’t easy, but the whole crew has experiences that are finally being brought to the surface. The show seems to bring some different perspectives and emotions to the auditions on both the positive and negative sides.
The story is very touching to the world. Watching the actors grow up on TV alongside the kids at home can bring a world of emotions. The light at the end of the dark tale is bringing awareness to the sad truth about sexual assault. It can happen to anyone, anywhere. The actor Bell is reliving his story by speaking the truth on what had happened behind the scenes. This was a very tough time for him and having this amount of pressure on him shows how strong a person has to be to talk about something so scary. The reaction to the show is from a similar point of view. EHS art teacher Payton Sporleder said, “I didn’t want to face the reality behind the tv shows that I grew up watching…I was appalled..truly I think it’s important to know and that is has benefits in the way of not pretending that everything is okay all the time, so I think that message really should get across.” Sporleder has some strong opinions on both sides of the story which reaches her deeply as a teacher in the system. She wants the best for the children she helps every day and doesn’t understand why someone would put a child at risk if they know their mind would be anywhere but helping that child succeed in the industry. She is so glad that the message is being spread about child actors and she hopes that it can one day be improved for a safer environment for these talented children.
This story has been sent through many platforms. A lot of different thoughts have been shared and the truth that this tv show didn’t reach all the points of what happened behind the scenes of Nickelodeon or even what Dan Schneider had been involved in. Some points were hard to understand on why it was being talked about or who the person was. Another viewer, Cornella Brown(25) said, “The show had more information on the other men on set and not enough about how Dan created weird environments. I wish it had leaned more into the Ariana Grande situations or those types of shows.” Brown had connected less to this show because she wasn’t used to the shows that were talked about and knew only of the high sexualization of Ariana Grande. They showed many clips of Grande, but never talked about how those television shows had become increasingly more sexualized. This brings a high questioning to why it wasn’t spoken about. It comes from a spot that looks like the tv show is still hiding some valuable information. The show “Quiet on Set” produces not only awareness, but an amount of questions and curiosity that left the audience wondering.
