After high school, Tayla Wiedeman (24) plans on attending college to major in plant genetics and breeding. Her goal is to continue to be an advocate and a voice for agriculture. At Eaton High School, Wiedeman is a three-sport athlete competing in volleyball, basketball, and tennis.
She is also an active member of FBLA, FFA, DECA, and NHS. Wiedeman has spent time competing at the national level for FBLA and FFA during her time at EHS. Outside of school, she is highly involved in 4-H. She has a passion for showing lambs and has been showing them for 10 years.
Being involved in so many aspects at Eaton High School, Wiedeman is a natural leader. She explained that being a leader is important because, “it means encouraging others to be their best. Making everyone feel included and confident in their skills is important,” said Wiedeman.
The most important word in the EATON acronym to Wiedeman is ownership. She feels strongly about this because, “only you can push yourself to succeed as you are the only thing that can make you fail. You have to be able to hold yourself accountable everyday.” Wiedeman wants to be remembered as someone trustworthy and hard working, no matter the situation. Having such depth in her involvement at EHS will inevitably leave a legacy.
