Deirdre Jones is an English teacher at Eaton High School, has traveled to Italy three times and has been to Greece. Often she travels with the kids from the school because as she said “I think it is good for people to see the world, and who wouldn’t want to see the place where Shakespeare was born?” After seeing Italy three times Mrs. Jones said she decided she wanted to see somewhere new, and she had promised her daughter Avery, who is graduating next year, that she would take her to Europe and get a tour together. The several students are excited to go. Jehna Powell said,“I can’t wait to get all the money so I can go to Europe”. In order to go on this trip the kids are going to need raise around $3,700 per student, Jones agreed that she would help by selling big “E” style T-Shirts and concessions but the rest is up to the parents. They will have to plan fundraisers for their own money. Once in Europe the group will Travel to Scotland, England and Paris. They will stay at a hotel in each place with breakfast and dinner included. Jones plans these trips with an educational travel group called EF (educational tours). And they have many activities planned for each of the areas they will visit. In Great Britain she would like to visit a museum, go to Buckingham Palace, take a tour of London, see Anne Hathaway’s cottage (Shakespeare’s wife), and she would also like to see Stonehenge if at all possible. in. Jones said she is a direct descendant of Robert the Bruce who is on the currency of the Scottish. Also in Scotland they are going to celebrate a Gaelic dinner which is a traditional Scottish meal. Jones said,”This trip is meant to be both educational and fun, a way to spread students knowledge of the world they live in.”
