Eaton Boys Basketball takes down Estes Park
Eaton Reds Basketball takes the momentum back on their side
Eaton Boys Basketball takes back to back wins to move their record up to 10-2. They continued to impress as they took down Estes Park and Frontier in their tough games. From the beginning of the Estes game, the Reds took charge and maintained a steady lead against the 6-4 Estes Park Bobcats. With their home crowd behind them, the Reds weren’t looking to let their school down.
Coming off of a 59-52 loss against Resurrection Christian, the boys needed to get the momentum back on their side. This is exactly what they did, keeping the Estes boys at bay. Starting off in the first quarter the Reds took a dominant eight point lead and they weren’t looking at letting off the gas. By the time they reached the half, the boys had doubled their lead and had complete control. Zac Grable (23) said, “After the loss to Rez, our team was really frustrated but we had to move on. We really worked on our defense and tried to play the best ball we could every possession.”
Quarter three wasn’t any different as the boys scored 23 points and raised their overall lead to 30 points. During the rest of the game, the Reds were able to slow down and have some fun.
Leading the boys in the scoring category was Zac Grable followed closely by Walker Martin (23) with 16 and 15 points respectively. Both Grable and Martin lead the team in the rebound category as well. Martin said, “Coming off a tough loss motivates us to just work harder and fix up what we need to work on.”
Next up, the boys take on Strasburg on Tuesday, Jan. 24. To stay updated on the upcoming games, tune into Eaton Red Ink for weekly updates and NFHS to watch the game live.
